Stakeholders in peace building have officially launched the Kaduna Justice and Peace Forum following the successful completion of a two-day workshop organized by the Interfaith Mediation Centre (IMC) in collaboration with the German Embassy in Abuja, Nigeria.
The workshop, held in Kaduna State, focused on strengthening women’s interfaith leadership for human rights, transitional justice, and democratic stability. It brought together participants from different communities and faith-based organizations to discuss practical approaches to peace building, conflict prevention, and community development.

Speaking at the event, the Co-Director of IMC, Mr. Samson Auta, said the workshop equipped participants with modern strategies for conflict mitigation through Early Warning and Early Response mechanisms aimed at preventing crises before they escalate.
He explained that the training also featured lectures, interactive sessions, and experience-sharing among participants, all designed to empower women with leadership skills and deeper understanding of human rights and peace mediation.

At the end of the workshop, participants inaugurated the Kaduna Justice and Peace Forum, a new platform created to promote advocacy, peaceful coexistence, and stronger collaboration among stakeholders in peace building across Kaduna State.
The newly elected Chairman of the Forum, Mr. Gabriel Joseph, appreciated all participants and organizers for the success of the workshop and called for sustained unity and cooperation among members.

According to him, the 20-member executive committee of the Forum, made up of 12 women and 8 men, is committed to working with relevant organizations, peace institutes, and community leaders toward building a more peaceful and united Kaduna State.
Mr. Gabriel further appealed to members and stakeholders to support the vision of the Forum, emphasizing the importance of partnership, religious tolerance, dialogue, and mutual understanding among different faith-based organizations and communities.
