In a statement signed by the Director of the Early Warning and Early Response (EWER) Desk, Rev. Michael Ijah Ikpa, the Interfaith Mediation Centre (IMC), Kaduna, felicitated with Muslim faithful in Nigeria and across the world on the occasion of the 2026 Eid-el-Kabir celebration.
The statement described Eid-el-Kabir as a sacred season of sacrifice, obedience, faith, compassion, and total submission to the will of Almighty Allah, as exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim (AS). It noted that the celebration serves as a reminder of the need for humanity to embrace the virtues of peace, tolerance, love, forgiveness, humility, and selfless service to one another irrespective of religious, ethnic, or social differences.

The Centre called on citizens and communities to continue promoting peaceful coexistence, mutual respect, dialogue, and non-violence, especially at a time when many societies are facing security challenges, communal tensions, hate speech, and economic hardship.
The statement further urged religious leaders, traditional institutions, youth groups, women organizations, security agencies, and community stakeholders to use the festive period to strengthen unity, build bridges of understanding, and support initiatives that foster reconciliation and sustainable peace within communities.
The Early Warning and Early Response Desk also appealed to members of the public to remain vigilant, law-abiding, and security conscious throughout the celebration by promptly reporting suspicious movements, threats, or activities capable of undermining peace and public safety.
According to the statement, the Interfaith Mediation Centre prayed that the Eid-el-Kabir celebration would bring renewed hope, healing, divine blessings, prosperity, and lasting peace to families, communities, and the nation at large.
The statement also prayed that Almighty Allah would accept the sacrifices, prayers, and acts of worship of the faithful, and continue to guide humanity on the path of righteousness and peace.
