Nigeria Christian cleric takes world interfaith harmony week campaign to Muslims scholars & youth to promote religious tolerance, peace & unity


As part of effort of promoting the activities of this year world interfaith harmony week 2019 , the general overseer of Christ evangelical intercessory fellowship church in Gwagyi Villa, kaduna state North western Nigeria, Pastor yohanna buru has taken the campaign to Muslims scholars, youth and women organization in other to strengthening religious tolerance among different faith base organization in the country,

Pastor yohanna who leads the team of Christian clerics to meet with muslims preachers says, the reason of the visitation was aimed at boosting cordial relationship and encourage religious tolerance among the two major religion in the country “muslims and Christians” and to spread the message of Interfaith week.

He says” world Interfaith week play a major role in promoting peace and unity among different faith organization across the world,and that is why we are here to convey the message and to make more friends with muslims”

According to him, the church cannot forget the donation of 50 copies of Bible it received from a group of Muslim women in February 2016 during the international Inter-faith week; saying, this is geared towards promoting religious tolerance.
“The Muslims are our brothers and neighbors not enemies; we must join hands together to live in peace, and harmony because we all have Holy books (Qur’an and Bible) that teach us love and peace.”

Pastor yohanna said, as the interfaith and harmony week commences, “We are going to organize endurance Trekking for both Muslims and Christians Clerics to create awareness to the public, and also organize Reading and written competition among Muslims and Christians in schools and Internally displaced person”IDPs”, Inmate, and less privilege in the societies ,so as to enhance understanding of harmony among youths.

He said,we have been organizing many event in Nigeria to mark world interfaith week and harmony and this is our 6th year of organizing the event.
Adding also that ,they are planning to organise foodball matchs,and other series of campaign to schools,so as to educate youth once on the importance of tolerance,
Responding Mallam Gambo abdullahi, a muslims cleric in katsina state , expressed satisfaction, while calling on othe pEace NGO and CSO to be more committed in using the interfaith week to spread the message of peace and unity among Nigerians

He appealed to Religious leaders across the world to used this week in spreading the gospel of peace and unity
