The Women Wing of the Support Organization for Muslim Ummah with Disabilities in Nigeria (SOMUDIN) has organized a Sallah Get-Together Dinner to promote unity, friendship, and empowerment among women living with disabilities in Northern Nigeria.
The event brought together women from different backgrounds And disabilities clusters to celebrate the Sallah festivities while strengthening social bonds and encouraging greater participation in education, entrepreneurship, and community development.

Speaking during the occasion, the National President of the Joint Association of Persons with Disabilities in Nigeria, Comrade Rilwanu Abdullahi, said the gathering has become an annual tradition, noting that this year’s edition marks the fourth consecutive year of the initiative.
He explained that the programme was designed to provide a platform for women with disabilities to interact, share experiences, receive guidance, and motivate one another to achieve their personal and professional goals.
According to him, participants have continued to benefit from counseling sessions, mentorship, and words of encouragement aimed at enhancing their confidence and productivity in society.
Delivering one of the keynote presentations, Pastor Dr. Yohanna Buru, National President of the Peace Revival and Reconciliation Foundation of Nigeria, said the organization was pleased to join Muslims in celebrating Sallah as a demonstration of religious harmony and peaceful coexistence.
He noted that festive occasions such as Sallah offer valuable opportunities for Christians and Muslims to interact, build friendships, and promote mutual understanding among communities.

Also speaking, Dr. Abdullahi Idris, National President of the Arewa Cohesion Initiative, highlighted the need for sustained efforts toward peacebuilding and unity across the region.
He urged religious leaders to continue praying for peace and stability in the country, while calling on young people to reject violence and embrace dialogue, tolerance, and peaceful coexistence.
The event featured paper presentations, counseling sessions, and interactive discussions focused on empowering women with disabilities and strengthening community ties.
