The Kaduna State Government has inducted 1,800 newly recruited primary health care personnel in a move aimed at strengthening health service delivery across the state’s 23 local government areas.
The Executive Director of the Kaduna State Primary Health Care Development Agency, Professor Bello Yusuf Jamoh said the induction training forms part of the government’s strategy to improve access to quality health care and significantly reduce maternal, infant, and child mortality in the state.

According to him, the training was conducted across the three senatorial zones—Zaria, Kaduna Central, and Kafanchan to ensure comprehensive capacity building and effective deployment of qualified health personnel to primary health care centres.
He explained that the programme is also designed to align newly recruited staff with modern health care standards and the use of improved medical and digital equipment at PHC facilities.
Professor Jamoh noted that the newly inducted health workers would be posted to primary health care centres across the state to strengthen service delivery, particularly at the community level.
He further disclosed that the Kaduna State Government has begun a sustained recruitment process and plans to continue engaging additional health workers annually to address workforce gaps and improve overall health outcomes.
The Executive Director urged the new health personnel to uphold professional ethics, demonstrate commitment to service, and actively support government efforts aimed at improving the quality of life of residents. He also commended Governor Senator Uba Sani for prioritising the health sector through the renovation and upgrading of primary health care centres across the state, as well as the recent salary enhancement for health workers.
Traditional leaders in the state have also praised the governor for approving the recruitment of over 1,800 health workers, describing the initiative as a major boost to health care delivery.

In a similar reaction, the Garkuwan Zaman Lafiyar Arewa and founder of a non-governmental organisation in Kaduna State, Pastor Dr. Yohanna Buru, welcomed the development, stating that it would help address the challenge of inadequate health personnel in the state.
He further commended the government for equipping primary health care centres with modern facilities and called on citizens to support initiatives aimed at strengthening the health system.
