The Jewel Environmental Initiative (JEI) has partnered with Attibiyan Model Academy and the State Low-Cost Youth Forum to conduct a community tree-planting campaign in the State Low-Cost Community, Gombe.
The initiative, held on August 30, 2026, was organised as part of JEI’s efforts to promote community-led environmental restoration and raise awareness about environmental conservation.
The campaign was implemented under JEI’s Community and School Sensitisation Campaign, which aims to reach 50,000 people and students across Gombe State with practical knowledge on environmental conservation, climate action, sustainable waste management, gender-based violence, menstrual hygiene, and climate-smart agriculture.
Speaking during the exercise, JEI Team Lead, Dr. Abubakar Gwani, reaffirmed the organisation’s commitment to promoting environmental conservation, school tree-planting initiatives, proper waste management and climate awareness in schools and communities.
Dr. Gwani said partnerships with schools, youth groups and communities are essential to encouraging young people to take ownership of their environment and translate environmental awareness into meaningful action.
He added that JEI would continue to support community-based initiatives aimed at protecting the environment and building a greener and more resilient Gombe State.
