The Eye Opener Youth and Women Foundation has congratulated General Mohammed Buba Marwa (Rtd.) on his reappointment as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).
In a statement, the Founder and Executive Director of the Foundation, Margaret Kwa’ada Julius, also expressed appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for deeming Gen. Marwa worthy of another term, describing the decision as a strategic move to strengthen Nigeria’s fight against drug abuse.
Julius— a three-time WHO World No Tobacco Day Award recipient, two-time Leadership Award honoree for Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Prevention, and recipient of the Award of Excellence from the Ecolink Institute of Well-Being, India—commended the President for sustaining a leadership model that prioritizes national health, security, and youth development.
She noted that Gen. Marwa’s renewed mandate reflects the administration’s confidence in his transformative work and his dedication to curbing substance abuse, enhancing public safety, and promoting preventive interventions nationwide.
“As partners in drug-demand reduction, we deeply appreciate President Tinubu’s continued support for strong and purposeful leadership in the NDLEA,” Julius said. “We look forward to strengthening collaboration with the Agency to safeguard young people, women, and families from the dangers of drug abuse.”

Julius added that the Foundation, through its Tobacco and Substance Abstinence Club, remains committed to driving community-based sensitization, prevention education, and support initiatives.
