The Rotary Action Group for Peace (RAGFP) has announced a partnership with the Presidency through the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA) to implement the National Community Violence Reduction Programme (NCVRP) ,a people-centered initiative designed to promote peace, security, and community resilience across Nigeria.
Speaking during a press briefing in Kaduna, the State Coordinator of RAGFP, Babatunde Luqman Temidayo, welcomed stakeholders and members of the press, emphasizing Rotary’s commitment to advancing peacebuilding, conflict prevention, and positive community engagement.

“Rotary’s presence in Nigeria complements government efforts in promoting peace — a luxury that has eluded many regions,” Temidayo stated. “This partnership with the Office of the National Security Adviser marks a new milestone in non-kinetic approaches to addressing insecurity.”
RAGFP serves as the civil society arm of Rotary International, tasked with promoting structures and institutions that uphold peacebuilding, peacemaking, and peacekeeping. The Kaduna branch of RAGFP was commissioned on October 16, 2024, and has since implemented several humanitarian and peace-driven projects in the state.
RAGFP’s Ongoing Peace Interventions in Kaduna
Since its establishment, RAGFP Kaduna has conducted various outreach and advocacy programs, including:
Behavioural Modification Seminar and donation of toiletries at the Borstal Institute, Barnawa to mark the 2024 International Day of Peace.

Peace Education Campaign across 10 public schools with support from Kaduna Internal Revenue Service (KADIRS) in February 2025.
Donations to the Kaduna State Special Education School and Primary Healthcare Centre (PHC) Mando, benefiting expectant mothers.
“Feed the Needy” initiative, which supported nearly 200 indigent persons.
Grassroots Community Peace Advocacy against drug abuse in Rigasa, in collaboration with IFADAE, NDLEA, NAFDAC, and other stakeholders.
The group also announced an upcoming donation of 2,000 exercise books to LEA Kofar Kuyambana, Zaria, in collaboration with the Kaduna Public Procurement Authority (KADPPA).
About the National Community Violence Reduction Programme (NCVRP)
The NCVRP is a joint initiative of the National Counter Terrorism Centre (NCTC) under ONSA, the Gray Child Foundation, and the Rotary Action Group for Peace (RAGFP).
The programme adopts a holistic, community-driven strategy to address the root causes of insecurity — including terrorism, banditry, organized crime, and ethno-religious conflict — through peacebuilding, social inclusion, and economic empowerment.

It aims to:
Strengthen community resilience against violence and extremism.
Promote social cohesion among diverse groups.
Build the capacity of local institutions and law enforcement.
Support victims and vulnerable populations through psychosocial and livelihood programs.
Temidayo highlighted that the NCVRP aligns with Rotary’s global focus on Peace and Conflict Prevention/Resolution, one of its seven key areas of service.
Commendation for Kaduna State Government
The RAGFP Kaduna Coordinator commended the Kaduna State Government for its ongoing peace initiatives and the establishment of the Kaduna State Peace Commission, describing it as a “veritable model of coexistence among diverse communities.”

“Kaduna has moved from a red zone to amber, according to recent United Nations ratings — a testament to the government’s dedication to peace,” he said.
Temidayo reaffirmed Rotary’s readiness to collaborate with the Presidency and Kaduna State Government in advancing peace and stability.
“Rotary Action Group for Peace stands ready to work closely with ONSA and the Kaduna State Government to strengthen and promote peace across communities,” he concluded.
