The Human Rights Group assures the good and patriotic citizens of Nigeria of its support for the actualization of the mandates of female candidates in the 2023 gubernatorial elections.
In a press statement made available to the press on the 17th March 3023 the organization draw the support of all Nigerian women across the 36 states of the country toward sthrenthening all gubernatorial and states house of assembly positions
It is in line with Sustainable Development Goal 5, which aims to achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls.
0It is also a precondition for realizing all goals in the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda. Equality for women and girls is not only one of the most important human rights but also an indispensable part of sustainable social and economic development. And, to secure sound and sustainable economic development, nations should empower and support women and girls in politics.
We want to use this medium to congratulate Mrs. Ireti Kingibe on her election as the Senator Representing the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mrs. Ipalibo Banigo, elected representative for Rivers West Senatorial District, and 13 others who were elected into the House of Representatives.
We charge all Nigerian voters with their valid permanent voters card to go all out en masse to support Hajiya Aishatu Dahiru (Binami) of Adamawa, Beatrice Itubo of Rivers, and other female gubernatorial and state assembly candidates in the coming state elections as our contributions to building sustainability in our respective states.
That the global human rights bodies place all the necessary machineries established to ensure free, fair, and credible elections by ensuring that all female candidates who emerge victorious are affirmed by the INEC without any hindrance or putrefaction.
