Ibrahim salisu is the managing director of Teku international farm kaduna ,North western Nigeria says ,the sunflower has the ability to adapt within different climates results from the low demand .
He says ,we have plenty sunflower in the farm, and we have been studying and observing the plants on how it respond to sun shine, and its adaptation to the environment
Adding also that Sunflower seeds show a high tolerance for cold temperatures during germination periods, which greatly increases their ability to survive in areas that undergo seasonal changes.
He says “The sunflower is one of my favorite flowers, and its plentiful seeds are packed with health benefits that can help you from head to toe”
Sunflowers are probably the only thing keeping most pollinators alive at the moment, for example. That’s great for those pollinator species, of course, but also for the predators and parasitoids that live of those insects.
We also understand that , Sunflower plants require full sun exposure and will not tolerate a shaded environment.
He concluded by saying that with the little knowledge he learnt about climate change,he was also to support the fight against desertification and global warming through donating trees to holy places, schools, markets,
