The Arewa Cohesion for Peace, Unity and Development Initiative has extended warm greetings and best wishes to Muslims across Nigeria and around the world as they celebrate Maulud 2026, commemorating the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
In a goodwill message, the Director-General of the Initiative, Dr. Abdullahi Idris, urged Muslims to use the occasion to reflect on the life, teachings and exemplary character of Prophet Muhammad (SAW), particularly his messages of peace, compassion, tolerance, justice, unity and peaceful coexistence.

Dr. Abdullahi Idris said the Maulud celebration provides an important opportunity for Muslims to strengthen their commitment to peaceful coexistence and to promote understanding and unity among people of different faiths and backgrounds.
He called on Muslims, particularly in Northern Nigeria, to continue supporting peace, community development and social harmony, stressing that sustainable development can only be achieved in an atmosphere of peace and mutual respect.
The DG also encouraged religious leaders, traditional institutions, youth and community leaders to continue using their positions to promote dialogue, discourage hatred and violence, and foster unity among communities.
According to him, the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) remain relevant in addressing contemporary challenges, including insecurity, poverty, intolerance and social division.
The Arewa Cohesion for Peace, Unity and Development Initiative prayed for peace, prosperity and stability across Nigeria and the wider world, and called on all Muslims to make the Maulud celebration an opportunity to renew their commitment to peace, compassion and service to humanity.
Signed:
Dr. Abdullahi Idris
