In another bold demonstration of environmental leadership, the proactive Gombe Goes Green (3G) Taskforce has taken its greening campaign to the newly constructed dual carriageway initiated by His Excellency, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, CON (Dan Majen Gombe), the visionary Green Governor of Gombe State and champion of the state’s environmental transformation agenda.
The strategic tree-planting exercise, led by the indomitable Chairman of the 3G Taskforce, HRH Dr. Abubakar Atare Buba II, brought together the Committed and formidable members of the Task Force alongside dedicated forestry personnel to establish a green corridor around the Police Headquarters and CBN corridors.
The exercise marks another significant milestone in Gombe’s journey toward becoming a front-runner in afforestation, urban greening, and climate resilience. Beyond beautifying the newly developed road corridor, the trees will provide shade, improve air quality by Improve air quality by helping to reduce pollution from car emissions, motorcycles, and keke, reduce environmental degradation, and contribute to a healthier urban environment.
In a strong demonstration of community ownership, the Taskforce also distributed seedlings to citizens for planting around their homes. Shop owners along the corridor have equally embraced the initiative, taking responsibility for trees planted around their businesses and pledging to water, protect, and nurture them.
Their response sends a powerful message: a greener Gombe cannot be built by government alone it requires every citizen to take ownership.
With visionary leadership from the Green Governor, determined stewardship from the indomitable 3G Chairman, and the unwavering commitment of the Taskforce and forestry teams, Gombe continues to turn environmental ambition into visible action.
