Commonwealth Peace Prize Co-Recipient Commends KADCCAM for Commitment to Climate Change Awareness Online and Offline

The co-recipient of Commonwealth peace prize Rev Dr James wuye commended Kadccam for it’s commitment towards promoting awareness on climate change accountability through media both online and offline

During a brief meeting at Teku international farms kaduna, Rev Dr James praised Kadccam for their commitment through using various forms of medium to create awareness to the general public on harmful effects of polluting the environment, while creating awareness to mitigate Bush burning

He said, he has been following the activities of kaduna through News paper, Radio and online News on All the advocacise to ministry, and stakeholders on environmental protection with their engagement with civil society organization

He commented the kaduna State commission of environment honorable abubakar Buba and all the members of kadccam for their various contributions towards making kaduna State better

He appealled to all citizens to support government efforts towards protecting our environment against All forms of environmental degradation

Responding ibrahima yakubu the co-chair of kaduna State climate change accountability mechanism said, it’s a collective responsibility to protect kaduna State against all forms of ecological challenges and other forms of environmental degradation affecting humans and other living organism in the state

He commented the effort to the Commonwealth prize winner 2025 for his efforts towards encouraging innovative ideas to protect the environment

He added that since the lunching of kadccam,by kaduna State government,they have carried out many advocacy, And media campaign aimed at protecting the environment

He then called on civil society organization and non governmental organization and religious leaders to join the campaign against desertification, deforestation, guilty erosion and other forms of environmental degradation affecting humans and other living organism in the environment

It could recalled that The Commonwealth Peace Prize is part of a multi-phase collaboration between the Khalili Foundation and the Commonwealth Secretariat to support and amplify peacebuilding initiatives across the 56 member states.

In 2025 Rev Dr James wuye and imam nuraini ashafa were the recipient of the award from Nigeria
