Earthwell Climate Change & Environmental Initiative Marks International Women’s Day 2026, Calls for Greater Support for Girl-Child Education

Earthwell Climate Change & Environmental Initiative proudly joins the global community in celebrating International Women’s Day on March 8, 2026, a day dedicated to recognizing the remarkable achievements, resilience, and invaluable contributions of women across the world.

In a press statement issued on Saturday to mark the occasion, the Founder of the Initiative, Rashidat Abiola Niyi, joined millions of people worldwide in honoring women and acknowledging their critical role in building stronger communities, advancing sustainable development, and protecting the environment.

Rashidat emphasized the importance of collective and collaborative efforts among governments, civil society organizations, development partners, and community stakeholders to promote girl-child education, empower women, and address the persistent challenges of poverty and inequality affecting women and girls, particularly in vulnerable communities.

According to her, investing in the education and empowerment of the girl-child remains one of the most effective pathways to achieving sustainable development and creating lasting positive change in society.

She further noted that when women are empowered with the right opportunities, education, and resources, they become powerful agents of change capable of transforming families, communities, and nations.

Earthwell Climate Change & Environmental Initiative therefore calls on all stakeholders to strengthen partnerships and continue supporting initiatives that promote gender equality, women’s empowerment, and inclusive development.

She equally called for awareness to reduce desertification, deforestation, flood disaster, climate change and other forms of environmental degradation affecting women in the rural area

As the world marks International Women’s Day 2026, the Initiative reaffirms its commitment to advocating for programs and policies that support women, advance girl-child education, and contribute to a more equitable and sustainable future for all.
