Kaduna, Nigeria — November 30, 2024 — The Hoba (Kilba) Christian Association (KCA) Main Branch, Kaduna, recently recognized Margaret Kwa’ada Julius for her outstanding contributions to humanity and her unwavering service to God during a special award ceremony.
Held at the HEKAN Headquarters in Kaduna, the event was attended by prominent figures, including Wing Commander (Retired) Dr. C. L. Womdeo, and members of the Hoba (Kilba) community. Margaret, a native of Udong village in Pella District, Adamawa State, was honored for her remarkable work as a humanitarian and her advocacy in drug prevention and youth empowerment.
Margaret is the founder of several initiatives, including the Eye Opener Youth and Women Foundation, the Tobacco and Substance Abstinence Club, and the Njirhoba Multipurpose Foundation. She was celebrated for her relentless efforts in reducing drug demand through prevention programs, as well as her broader humanitarian endeavors supporting the welfare of children and youth.
Her work has garnered significant recognition, with Margaret receiving several prestigious awards over the years, including:
The World Health Organization (WHO) No Tobacco Award for the Africa Region (2021, 2022, and 2024)
The 2024 Global Award for Prevention and SUD Training from the Ecolink Institute of Wellbeing, India
The Award for Impact from the Ark Movement Nigeria
The Award for Excellence and Service to Humanity from the African Institute of Waste Management and Environmental Studies
In her address, the KCA organizers highlighted Margaret’s dedication and transformative impact on vulnerable populations, praising her for being a beacon of compassion and leadership.
“This award is a testament to her commitment to God and her tireless service to humanity,” said the organizers, noting that Margaret’s efforts inspire hope and drive positive change in the Hoba (Kilba) community and beyond.
